Angel Wings Mini Session Sneak Peek {Kansas Children’s Photographer}
Posted on February 8, 2010
We had a great day Saturday at Rattle and Roll in Dodge City doing these angel wing mini sessions. All the kids were so adorable and showed off their angelic sides for us. We even sneaked in a 9-month session for a baby planner…thanks for the great day everyone! Enjoy this sneak peek…

Busy weekend! Mini session and auction on Saturday
Posted on February 5, 2010
I will be at Rattle and Roll tomorrow doing my Angel Wing Mini Session (there’s still some room if you want in!). I will also be set up at a school auction in Dodge City tomorrow evening. I am excited about that as it is my first auction! I have no idea if anyone will even bid on a session from me but I’ll put it out there and try to help the school. I’ve been getting some samples ready and thought I’d share them with all of you. Come by and see us tomorrow at Rattle and Roll…she’s having a huge sale tomorrow to get ready for the spring lines!

Angel Wing Mini Sessions—Postponed
Posted on January 29, 2010
Due to the weather, we are rescheduling our Angel Wings mini session event that was to be tomorrow morning at Rattle and Roll in Doge City. We are hoping to do these next weekend, instead. There are a few appointments still open if you want to schedule! We are also going to throw in something special for the boys for Valentine’s Day…look back soon for pictures!

I felt a little rusty getting back in the studio for a senior this morning…it’s been a nice break but getting going again is going to take some work! And it was nice to start out with someone as fun and gorgeous as Miss Ashley…I hope the rest of the year is just as awesome! We did have a great time and even got her boyfriend in on a few images. Unfortunately, the weather/wind is NOT cooperating so we only got the studio portion finished this morning and will try to get some on-location shots in the next week or two. In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek!

Sneak Peek…3 days old! {Kansas Newborn Photographer}
Posted on January 22, 2010
Days like yesterday give me baby fever pretty badly…this sweet little girl was perfect and amazing to photograph. She was so sleepy…just the way I like them! Getting to photograph a newborn in their first week of life is truly amazing…and it’s also the best time to get those newborn images because they just don’t stay that little for long. I loved all her hair which reminded my of our youngest. Baby B is beautiful…thank you for letting me work with her and your precious new family. Enjoy!

Miss Jade is already 7.5 months old. We missed her six month pictures (she did get some with her brother and sister about that time so not completely missed!) but we did a quick session on Friday to capture this point in her life. She’s sitting up like a pro and is already crawling. Hard to believe how fast time flies when there are little ones around. Enjoy this little sneak peek…

Not sure how often I’ll do these but I see these popping up on photo blogs all around and they are fun! You can take these ideas and add in your own style…the main thing I want you to see is how the colors go together. And how there are no cartoon characters on the shirts! You don’t have to go buy all new clothes or spend a lot of money, but you do have to put some thought into your family’s outfits. Start with the main color and then coordinate from there. It IS ok to show your style and personality in your photos! Enjoy!

Wow…what a week! I’m exhausted!!! Last Wednesday Aaron (of Jolies Images) and I headed to Nashville for a week of classes, meetings, trade show, and rubbing elbows with pro photographers from all over the world. We went three days early for a class to help us prepare for a certification exam. We won’t know if we passed for three weeks…but here’s hoping! If I passed, the next step in certification is submitting a body of work to be judged. Getting certified is no cake walk, and in the end means nothing unless my client base likes my work and will continue to do business with me! So…whether or not I become certified has little to do with me as an artist….however, it is helping me stretch my wings and continue to grow both as a business woman and as an artist. I will keep you up to date on the process…of course, if I didn’t pass I will probably pout around for a while too!
By the time we took our test on Sunday morning, we were both exhausted and mentally drained. I don’t think I got as much out of the rest of the conference as I could have because I just couldn’t focus in. We did have fun walking the trade show floor and seeing all the latest and greatest in the industry.
We did see quite a bit of Nashville just by escaping the hotel and driving around. We got to see the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman, which was really cool. Danny Goeke performed a couple of songs so it was worth it for me right there! We also got to see Little Jimmy Dickens who just turned 89 years young. Jason Michael Carroll and Kyle Petty ( yes, the race car driver who had never sung outside of his house til that moment!) were also fun to see. When Bill Anderson got up to sing, I was wishing my Dad was sitting there with us. I remember watching the GOO on tv years ago with him and Bill Anderson still looks the same!
Before we left town, we drove through downtown one more time and then went to find Music Row. Either we didn’t know what we were looking for, or Music “Row” is a little deceiving. We saw a big billboard that said, “Welcome to Music Row” and that was about it. We did end up driving through Vanderbilt University which was cool.
We were delayed several times on our flight home from Denver to Liberal…by the time we actually made it, we could have driven home and saved my nerves (seriously, have you ever flown on those little planes for 1.5 hours? NOT FUN!). All in all, it was a worthwhile experience even though I missed my kids terribly. They all survived, though, and Travis did a great job taking care of our family. I’m so blessed to have them all.
I didn’t take any cameras so no pictures to share, but wanted to share with all of you my week. I’m so thankful Aaron and I have formed a friendship and were able to spend a week learning more about our craft together.
Portrait sessions resume next week so you’ll see the blog start to pick up more then. For now, I have a lot to catch up on…starting with my house.
I love it! Thank you soo much! I can’t wait to see the rest of them!
These ARE beautiful…. I just love the one of the 2 girls togehte. Absoulelty addorable. Wonderful work.
Brooke! These are wonderful! I’ve often thought of doing some angel mini sessions but never have. But these are really inspirational.
