I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Steps Dance School in Garden City yesterday afternoon.  Emma attended the school for three years so it was special for me to have the opportunity to work with Miss Sabrina and her students.  I will be photographing the recital as well, and I can’t wait to see all these dancers perform!  I was blown away by how polite everyone was, especially these older girls.  These dancers gave me permission to post their images on my blog for a quick sneak peek…I hope you enjoy them!  (And I was in constant awe yesterday of all the splits and posing…but especially of the girls en pointe!)

I’ve got dance pictures tomorrow and recital pictures on Saturday…not sure if I’ll be able to share them since I don’t have a model release on the forms.  I may ask a few moms for permission though!  My sister is due any day with her baby and I can NOT wait to get my hands on him/her.  Plus, next week is jam-packed.  I have a couple of sessions, ball pictures, and t-ball begins…I’m “coaching” the team again this year so it should be fun.  Emma is also going to do gymnastics one day a week…looking like a busy summer!  Hope you are enjoying your week back to the grind after the long weekend. We are still feeling the effects of being out in the sun!

I’ve had a very busy week…2 days of dance/gymnastics pictures plus a day to edit and order them.  My eyes feel like they are about to pop out of my head…way too much screen time yesterday!  But…I didn’t mean to ignore my blog.  I didn’t get model releases for the dancers so I don’t have any proof of all my hard work.  However, I did get a few shots of Maddie in the sunset the other night and  a couple of my brother when he was here visiting.

We are going to the lake this weekend, hoping to just hang out and relax with our family.  The kids are SO excited to go fishing.  I’m sure I’ll have pictures of our time at the lake when we return.  Here’s hoping all of you have a wonderful and safe Memorial Weekend.

I had to beg my brother to let me take a few shots of him.  We hardly have any!!!  But he must love me because he let me get a few.  Love you brother!!

Getting lessons from Carter on how to shoot webs properly!

Last night, we attempted family portraits in this sweet family’s back yard. Between the wind and Miss G, I had my work cut out for me! But…I think we got some for the family to use! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I’m babysitting this little guy today…his parents are some of our best friends and I’m so glad I can pitch in to help! He’s seriously the happiest baby ever!!! Carter and Maddie have LOVED having him here. While he’s here we are trying to get some 6-month pictures of him…but I need either a few more hands or a few less (Maddie’s to be exact!). I did get a few this morning after his nap…and he was so smiley! We are going to miss not having him around after today.

The Senior Folio gets an update!  I just fell in love with this line of folios and am starting to offer them in my new Senior Collections.  They come in fun, wild colors and make it fun to display a collection of favorite images from your senior session with a digital collage for each panel.  The folios come in either 2 or 3-panels and three sizes: 10×10, 8×8, and 5×5.    Here are just some of the fun colors available: Hot Pink Fun and Funky, Orange Fun and Funky, Purple Moon, Metallic Smoke Exotic, Crimson Shantung Silk…and the list could go on!

This is my nephew Race!  He HATES having his pictures taken almost as much as his mom hates having her’s taken!  BUT…with the promise of getting to play with Carter all afternoon if he’d just give me 10 minutes, he pasted on a smile and followed me around the farm for some fun, more relaxed shutter clicks than he’s used to.  I think these are the most natural smiles I’ve ever gotten out of him!  Enjoy the sneak peek!!!

Here’s a flower for his Momma for Mother’s Day…and look at that bokeh!

In the above shot, his eyes had the MOST amazing catchlights…I zoomed in so you can see.  Yes, that the BLUE sky and ME in his chocolate eyes!

So…I talked forced my beautiful sister into doing some maternity images.  She’s been feeling “huge” these last few weeks…give me a break!  Look at these!!!  I hope when she sees these she realizes how beautiful she is!  (You can help by leaving her a comment and telling her so!)  Thanks for doing these, sis…hopefully you will enjoy them when you can look back on this time with fondness and not remember the aches, swelling, heartburn, and overall uncomfortableness that is pregnancy.  I can NOT wait for this baby to be here…both as a photographer and an aunt.  Mostly an aunt.    Love you!
