Patricia is Senior Rep for BJP this year and came in for her second session on Monday morning. I just love her sweet smile and positive attitude. She is a forensics champ and brought her medals to show off…how fun is that? I have really enjoyed working with Patricia and am excited to see where life takes her!!

Can you tell who didn’t have school on Friday? Teacher inservice days make great times to do sessions so no one has to miss school or practice! Brett came in Friday right after Wyatt, and we had fun working on doing different poses and backgrounds from the other SGHS kids I’ve already worked with! Let me tell you, that is no easy feat! Sometimes I can just get into my routine and have to remind myself of the creativity that makes this so much fun. Really digging in and focusing on that aspect paid off for his session, and we ended up with some really fun shots. Brett was a great sport about all of it! Garret, like most guys, came in for his session mostly because his mom wanted him to. But I facebook stalked him after the session and he admitted he had fun. Or at least that it wasn’t that bad. It was a fun session and we got to go out the golf course to capture some images on one of the greens. Hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

Yesterday I got to be part of something special. There is a very sweet and generous person in our area who wanted to give Sara something special to remember her senior year. This person bought Sara a gift certificate to spend with me on a session and some prints…but the catch is this person wishes to remain anonymous. So I got to call Sara and her mom and tell them they had a session waiting, all they had to do was get here. Sara has been so excited and brought tons of ideas and energy to her session yesterday. And at the end, we tried to come up with a creative way to tell this anonymous gift-giver thank you. The last image is what we came up with!

I have a facebook friend who posts several times a week inspiration to “scatter kindness”…each time I read her post I try to find a way to scatter some kindness in the day. This person who gifted the session to Sara scattered lots of kindness this week, in ways s/he doesn’t even know. And s/he has inpired me to do the same…I’m going to match the gift to another senior who would benefit from having a session like Sara’s. But I want all of you to send me nominations!!! I will choose one person on Friday, September 23rd to receive $150 to spend at BJP on a session/prints. So start emailing/facebooking/calling me with your nominations! If you know a 2012 senior who deserves a fun session and amazing prints, give me their name! You’ve got 9 days to take your opportunity to scatter some kindness! PAY IT FORWARD!

Had a blast with Jamie and her mom yesterday…I am so loving this cooler weather! Jamie is planning to attend KU after graduation so you can imagine how much excited I was to see her show up with some Jayhawk gear! The shot of her in the doorway is out at Kyle Nance’s barn that he’s restoring on the edge of town. He has been so gracious and invited me to shoot there any time…I absolutely love all the unique spots it offers and can’t wait to see it completed!! I LOVE this image we got upstairs in the loft area…one of my favorites of the year! THANKS KYLE!!!

Evan is a senior rep for the class of 2012…and I asked him to write a blog post for me to introduce himself to you. I love lists…especially personal ones…so I asked him to write a list of “25 things About Me” for the blog. I love it…and hope you all enjoy it too!!

1. I put God FIRST in my life!
2. I am an aspiring professional photographer, hope to start a business sometime.

Senior Family {Kansas Family Photographer}

Jen brought in the rest of her family to redeem her free family session with her senior package. (By the way, any 2011 seniors who have not done so already, call me for your free session by the end of JUNE!) She graduated last weekend as Valedictorian of her class…and has big plans for her future. But what I love about these images is that I can see how much this family loves each other…and at the same time they are letting go, they are holding on tighter than ever. Families grow and change together…but forever remain a family.
